First transcrestal mini sinus lift: sutures, Condress, hyaluronic acid or nothing

12 messages · In conversation order

Good morning, colleagues. I am preparing to perform my first magnetodynamic transcrestal mini sinus lift and would appreciate some advice from more experienced users. Would 6-0 or 5-0 PTFE sutures be appropriate? What about a Condress equine-collagen sponge, or is there another brand you would recommend? I would also welcome advice on hyaluronic acid, as I have never used it. For bone grafting, I normally use Geistlich Bio-Oss granules, 0.25–1 mm, but I do not think I will use them in this case. Thank you, and apologies for the interruption.

What is the anatomy of the ridge you need to treat?

Anatomia della cresta che devi approcciare?

🙏

Rather than performing a mini sinus lift, I think I will try to displace that cortical plate. However, I would like to be prepared to perform a mini lift if I decide to place a 10 mm implant.

I will leave the answer to the experts.

Parola agli esperti

I would use Vicryl sutures. No bone graft and no Condress either.

Io metterei suture vicryl No osso Nemmeno condress .

I would use a modified Summers technique here, without attempting any substantial elevation. All the requirements are present for a straightforward procedure with the Black Ruby tips. Therefore, I would not use any biomaterial.

Quindi no biomateriale

Thank you very much.

Grazie mille sei sempre gentilissimo

Make sure you use the drill followed by the Black Ruby tips.

Mi raccomando fresa più black ruby

So, Black Ruby rather than Elevate?

Original text · Italian

Quindi BR no elevate?

My plan was to use a 2.2 mm drill to within 1 mm of the sinus floor, followed by Black Ruby tips 2, 3 and 4, also stopping 1 mm short, to expand and condense the bone without perforating the floor. If elevation proved necessary, I would then use Elevate with an 8 mm stop, followed by Condress, hyaluronic acid and a 4.1 × 8 mm Straumann Tissue Level implant.

Alternatively, I could follow your advice, use the Black Ruby tips to a depth of 8 mm, place no graft material and insert the implant.
