Dear colleagues, I would like to share an adverse event that occurred during the complex extraction of tooth 48: while using the Magnetic Mallet, I chipped tooth 22. I was working with magnifying loupes—I am getting old—and concentrating on the surgical site. I did not notice that the patient had partially closed his mouth, causing the handpiece to rest against the maxillary arch. One of the Mallet’s recoil movements caused the damage, which I will repair shortly. Based on my experience, always protect the surrounding tissues. Have a good summer.

Cari colleghi, volevo farvi partecipi di un "imprevisto" durante l'estrazione complessa di un 48 : utilizzando il MM ho sbeccato il 22! Lavoravo con gli occhialini ( sono anziano.....)ed ero concentrato sul sito,non mi sono reso conto che il paziente, socchiudendo leggermente la bocca, mi aveva fatto appoggiare l'impugnatura sull'arcata superiore ed uno dei contraccolpi del mallet ha causato il guaio, che comunque a breve sistemero'. Sulla base di ciò che mi è successo cerchiamo sempre di proteggere i tessuti circostanti! Buona estate
