I am sharing a case involving split-crest management of a narrow mandibular ridge. The cortical plate was very thin, so the osteotomies were performed with a piezoelectric device. In addition to the crestal corticotomy, two carefully designed releasing cuts were made. After completing the corticotomies, I began mobilising the buccal bone segment with the Magnetic Mallet. Once it was sufficiently mobile, I prepared the implant site. Finally, I placed a xenogeneic bone graft and covered the site with a membrane. Participants in the masterclass at the end of the month will reproduce this procedure on a porcine mandible. We will also discuss the technique during this Saturday’s course. Please do not hesitate to ask questions; I can already imagine some of them. 😅
