Flawless surgery—but was it the right choice for the patient?

D. A. acknowledges the quality of the surgery but questions whether the plan suited the patient when the whole quadrant is considered. L. B. assesses the case differently and agrees that the patient should be considered as a whole.

I understand your point, but all that scatter and those artefacts create an impression that differs substantially from the actual clinical situation.

A similar case: again, an immediate post-extraction implant with a very small sinus lift, performed only because the bone graft material package was already open.

Caso simile. Sempre post-estrattivo con piccolissimo rialzo, giusto perché avevo già l’osso aperto.

Regarding the first case you shared, what I was trying to say is that, despite the impeccable surgery, this may not have been the most appropriate treatment for the patient when the whole half-arch is considered. I would certainly have advised the patient to have the tooth extracted and that quadrant rehabilitated with prostheses cemented onto the natural teeth, which are clearly compromised. I see this as a more appropriate and preventive solution in both the short and long term, as well as a more affordable option for the patient. I do not understand why, instead of seeing the PATIENT, we see only numerous implant sites in which to put screws.

I was considering the patient, but I fully agree that the patient as a whole must be assessed.
